My friend and I spend 3 days at Tanei during our visit to Angkor Wat in November 2008. The place was very peaceful as it is situated away from the main road but still within 5 to 10 mins walking distance to central market, Pub Street where all the activities are located. The room is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. (one of the staff actually stop and give us a lift using his motorcycle when my friend and i was walking back to the guest house from the market one night) There is also a small swimming pool and jacuzzi where you can go for a dip after a long long long walk at the angkor site. I had enjoyed myself throughout the 3 days with plenty of opportunities to interact with the local and tourist staying at the guesthouse. It was truely a fruitful stay and i will recommend it to anyone who plan to visit siem reap.

Myself and my wife spent over two weeks at Tanei Guest House and we
were extremely satisfied with the accommodation, proximity to the
central market and of course Bar Street - as its locally known - for
modern, clean and good food. If you wish to try local cuisine, then on
route to Bar Street are a multitude of street stalls and hawkers at
budget prices. Local shops provide plenty of western goods so you can
get a familiar 'home' treat if you fancy it.

After our days spent visiting the profusion of temples in the area,
returning home to wash the dust from ourselves and turn on an English
speaking film was wonderful. A simple home pleasure that i have missed
on long trips abroad.

The place is extremely new and on our visit in August 2007, it was as
if we were the first people to use the room. My wife is plagued with
mosquito's - they simply can't get enough of her! -  and it was a
concern she might suffer. In the two weeks we spent sleeping at Tanei,
we can't recall a single night either of us suffered a bite or saw a
mosquito.

Tanei is a family run establishment, and certainly felt homely to us
on our stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful and not once did
we feel we were being fed bad information in an attempt to extract
money from us.

I foolishly left important documents in our room when we left. From
within Cambodia i called Tanei Guest House, and the next day the
documents arrived at my new hotel! The staff speak good English!

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this delightful guest house and if
we are lucky enough to visit Siem Riep again, we will most certainly
return to Tanei Guest House.
