Cross the Border

Cambodian Visa: A visa is required for citizens of most countries. You can get a visa on arrival in Cambodia on major International Airports and border crossing with Thailand, Vietnam, however most of the people travel with you on the same flight or bus will not have a visa, which means a long line and a wait.
For your own convenient and hassle free, you can arrange an e-visa in advance on the Internet (except for citizens of Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Sudan or Sri Lanka.) Citizens of Malaysia, Singapore, Laos and the Philippines are not required to have a visa. Visa processing takes three days and the cost is $20 plus a $5 processing fee, which can be paid by credit card. What to do

Shopping: The central shopping belt of Siem Reap provides endless hours of shopping with its shopping malls, Souvenir shops, speciality stores, designer boutiques and bargain corners. Stores are open all week long, operating from around 8am to 9pm. There is 2 supermarkets in Siem Reap, Lucky mall and Angkor Supermarket. There are many souvenir shops around, the Old market is the good place to look for, also the Night Market you can also find the good things for the souvenir. Phsar Leu market is the market where local people get stuffs for their daily life, things are cheaper than any other place since it's the biggest market in Siem Reap, but if you want the souvenir, it's not the good place for you.
Pub Street: From 6pm till midnight or late, Pub Street is the only place that you can walk around find delicious food sell on the road as well as many pub and cocktail. It's located on the North-West closed to Old Market, just about 5 minutes away from Tanei Guesthouse by foot.
Angkor Night Market: It's located on the North-West from Pub Street, just also 5minutes away from the guest house, the market will open from 5pm till mid-night. If you wish to shop the souvenir that is the local made, so here is for you after the old market.
Angkor Nation Museum: A place where the legend come to live, it's located near the old stadium, if you wish to see the story of the khmer, you may visit here.

What to eat

Sea food in Siem Reap is more expensive than any other foods since Siem Reap is not near by the sea. The most famous foods are Amok, Teuk Kreung, Curry and many delicious foods that may display in different name in the menu, but the taste is good.

People and Language

People in Cambodia are nice and friendly. The main job for most of people in cambodia is grow rice.
Khmer is the official language and English as the second language, so you are more easier to communicate and find the information you need. in Siem Reap, most of people can speak English and have the good speaking skill. If compare to Vietnam and Thailand, Cambodia is much easier to communicate and feel like home.

Climate

Cambodia is located in Southeast Asia, in the tropical zone, just 10-13 degrees north of the equator. Like most of Southeast Asia, Cambodia is warm to hot year round and the climate is dominated by the annual monsoon cycle with its alternating wet and dry seasons. Learn more from Canby
